Wales has put together a well organized and slick campaign for this
year's. SXSW. This mellow rockers The Stories will be enjoyable for
alt-country Blue Rodeo fans and their ilk. Read: parent friendly +
Grey's Anatomy soundtrack fodder. Not the groundbreaking fare of
nights' past…off to the Byrne seminar…prepared to be schooled.
Just snagged a pic with David Byrne. TREMORS. Freaking out - caint type
INSANE. Literally. Stripping lead sintger calling his wee-wee
tinkerbell + rocking hard with his 10 year vetran band. Loving it.
Wish y'all were here for this gig especially - stage diving, beer
spillin', sing alongin'….BLISS
!eirut covering 'Brazil' from the Gilliam flick of same name. SMASHING.
On hype of Beirut - they are the real deal + covering 'seasons on the
sun' in french - balls supreme. Full horn and whimsy section. A
packed emos main room is loving it.
Brilliant lineup of shiny'n'young indie stars. Maps and Atlases
kicked it off with a beautiful solo song on flat lapped acoustic
guitar punctuated with percussive taps and finger flicking beats….
Holy fuck at the afternoon Canuck outdoor party. I haven't been this
proud to be Canadian since……
This badge registration lineup is worse than some of the documentaries
I've seen on communist Russia. At least we know what we're lining up
for!!!!
They've got us zig-zagging a la Canada's Wonderland - I'm stuck in
phase one of the first floor…and forgot my ipod…but meeting people
is easy as thom would say…prolly for the best that I didn't…

Although it's mega-familiar to be back - some of the venues have
changed. Thankfully in the case of the Mohawk Lounge it's for the
better. What used to be the something-spade (black spade club?
Getting too old to remember old-venue incarnations) now houses a great
soundboard, better decor…+ prolly the same staff.
Caught Seattle's Early Tapes last night - pretty decent high energy
straight up rock. Completely unnecessary then when the guitarist
pulled a Flea + stripped down. Yikes. Momma nature caint help you
now boy, but good luck with the gui-tar.
Looks like the badge lineups today are going to be a Gong Show -
hopefully I can sleep standing up + catch up on some rest…
