You don’t have to be a genius, but it helps to (It helps to); All the also-rans are real nice guys

Blegh. This weather makes me batty (ier?), cranky (ier?) & sticky. I (stupidly) tried to walk home from a lunch at Avenue & St. Clair yesterday….sought solace in Yorkville air conditioning & finally surrendered & hopped on a streetcar at St. George & College - sweating it out all the way home, but at least abbreviating the trip somewhat.

I feel like I am wearing a 200 lb. fatsuit.

I feel like bathing in rubbing alcohol & cotton-balling off layers of sludgy skin.

I feel like eating mango smoothies 3 meals a day.

I feel like I am operating with 25% less brain cells.

I feel like I am living in Texas again - & diagnosing Austin City Limits Festival patrons, volunteers & buds with ’sun rage’.

It’s not just the weather, but I am driving myself crazy without a regular work routine. I have no idea how people work from home because I am going a very special kind of crazy, the Martha Stewart variety. I’m crafting elaborate recipes – three course meals & desserts & baking (in this heat?? I am nuts.) & cleaning & laundry & shopping…oh my.

I would be better off selling Avon or joining the JW’s on their daily solicitation schedule…Man, Little Portugal has had a religious summer revival – brings a whole new meaning to ‘Witness Protection Programme’ – so heads up if you’re visiting or sampling the best chicken in town (they even filmed an episode of the SunTV foodie show from the chicken joint downstairs – so cable access confirms our taste/preferences)..it’s tough to keep your wits about you in this weather when turning down Watchtower subscriptions

Peace
Meegs

p.s. Drake Saturday for Gent Reg’s video release party? D’Urbervilles at the Silver Dollar Room on Saturday? Please do come.
