She gave me some dictation, But my strength is in administration

Bizarro day & it’s not even noon….

I have been on pins & needles waiting to hear the results of the nerve-wracking inquisition, I mean, interview from last Thursday…In a typical series of screw-ups, on my original application that was sent in February, I had put all my parents’ contact information for after March 22nd…not knowing that they’d win a trip to Jasper & be booking it on a VIA Train for over a week. When I found out that I did score an interview, which was NOT offered to my recently-graduated ass in 2003, I was ‘happy just to be nominated’ & all that humble bullshit.

So after regaining my composure last week - I fired off a duo of voicemail & e-mail messages to the anonymous program adminstrator contact ghost for the program with the hope & expectation to get the ’so sorry’ news soon-ish…but, after coming back from a super-humbling first trainer session at the Y (Ugh. I had a very patient & sweet trainer coax me into trying, yet again, weight training as a part of my routine…I know that I will wake tomorrow to regret this decision…Weights suck ass - you can’t listen to music, read magazines or practise Japanese whilst heaving & grunting on these godforsaken machines…plus there’s way too many guys in the weight room & they make the absolute most obscene noises when they are working out. Just unreal sounds. Pure Animal Kingdom shit. At least at this gym there isn’t faculty sweating & grunting….) - my cell rang & in some random act of horseshoe-ass-insertion they actually offered me this quasi-prestigious posish.

WTF? I told the director on the phone, which can only be explained by my post-workout exhaustion & disbelief, “I thought that I totally and completely dropped the ball on a lot of the political questions, and I was really, really nervous.” But he assured me that they didn’t expect me to ace all the politico questions & were just seeing how I manuvered masself around the high-stress stich of being interviewed by five people pelting different scenarios & inquiries…

So wow. I have a bit more confidence & leverage in the UO environment finally. Thank Christ. Imma book a ton of time off to work on NXNE extras, any HOB events & family stuff & friend-of-beau weddings & the like. If I do scrounge enough….maybe this Japan trip can happen before I Monica-Lewinski-it-up in the Fall. Wowsers. On that note, I should head’er to the Gap & buy one of those DNA-traceable black dresses before I forget…
